OriStory is a bedtime story app designed to help parents and guardians create personalised stories, illustrations and audio for children.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices parents and guardians have.

OriStory is intended to be used by parents, guardians or other adults to create bedtime stories for children.

Children should use OriStory only with the involvement and supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or independently provide personal information without parental involvement.

We aim to collect only the information needed to provide OriStory.

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following information.

If you create an account, we may collect:

• parent or guardian email address; 
• login or authentication information; 
• subscription or entitlement status; 
• customer support communications. 

We do not collect children’s email addresses.

To personalise stories, a parent or guardian may choose to provide limited information about a child, such as:

• first name or nickname; 
• age or age range; 
• preferred story themes; 
• favourite characters, animals, hobbies or interests; 
• selected illustration or narration preferences. 

This information is optional, but some story personalisation features may not work properly without it.

We recommend using a nickname rather than a child’s full legal name.

When you create a story, we may process:

• the prompt or story idea entered by the parent or guardian; 
• selected story settings; 
• generated story text; 
• generated images or illustrations; 
• generated audio narration; 
• saved stories and story history, if you choose to save them. 

This content may include information provided by the parent or guardian to personalise the story.

We may collect limited technical information to keep the app working, improve performance and fix bugs, such as:

• app version; 
• device type and operating system; 
• crash logs; 
• error reports; 
• performance information; 
• basic feature usage, such as whether a story was generated or saved. 

We do not use this information for third-party advertising.

Payments are processed by Apple App Store, Google Play or other payment providers.

We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive information needed to confirm purchase status, such as subscription status, renewal status, product purchased and transaction identifiers.

OriStory does not intentionally collect:

• precise location data; 
• contacts or address book data; 
• phone number; 
• SMS or call logs; 
• health data; 
• photos or videos from the device;
• advertising identifiers for child-directed advertising; 
• biometric data; 
• government identification numbers. 

OriStory does not include open chat between users, public profiles, social networking features or user-to-user messaging.

We use information to:

• create personalised bedtime stories; 
• generate story illustrations; 
• generate audio narration; 
• save stories and preferences if you choose to use those features; 
• manage accounts and subscriptions; 
• provide customer support; 
• maintain app security; 
• detect and fix technical issues; 
• improve app quality and reliability; 
• comply with legal obligations. 

We do not use children’s personal information for behavioural advertising.

OriStory uses artificial intelligence to generate stories, images and audio.

To provide these features, the story prompt and relevant story settings may be sent securely to AI service providers that help generate the requested content. These providers process the information only to provide the service to OriStory and are not permitted by us to use the information for advertising.

Parents and guardians should avoid entering sensitive information into story prompts.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate OriStory, such as:

• cloud hosting providers; 
• AI generation providers; 
• text-to-speech providers; 
• authentication providers; 
• app analytics or diagnostics providers, where permitted; 
• payment and subscription management providers; 
• customer support tools. 

These service providers are only allowed to process information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and must protect the information appropriately.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share children’s personal information with third parties for targeted advertising.

OriStory does not show third-party behavioural advertising to children.

If we ever introduce advertising, we will update this Privacy Policy before doing so and will ensure that any advertising complies with applicable children’s privacy laws and app store rules.

We may use privacy-conscious analytics and diagnostics to understand whether the app is working properly and to improve the service.

For children’s versions of the app or child-directed experiences, we avoid analytics practices that identify children or track them across apps or websites.

We do not use analytics for targeted advertising.

Where applicable privacy laws require a legal basis, we process information on the following bases:

• to provide the OriStory service requested by the parent or guardian; 
• with consent, where required; 
• to comply with legal obligations; 
• for legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, app maintenance and service improvement, where those interests are not overridden by privacy rights. 

For children’s personal information, we rely on the involvement and consent of the parent or guardian where required by law.

We take children’s privacy seriously.

OriStory is designed so that parents and guardians control the story creation process and any child profile information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental involvement.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, contact us at mobileapp@oristorybooks.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Parents and guardians may contact us to:

• access information associated with their account; 
• correct information; 
• delete a child or character profile; 
• delete saved stories; 
• delete their account; 
• withdraw consent where applicable. 

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Typical retention periods are:

• account information: kept while the account is active; 
• saved child profiles: kept until deleted by the parent or guardian or the account is deleted; 
• saved stories: kept until deleted by the parent or guardian or the account is deleted; 
• support messages: kept as long as needed to handle support and maintain records; 
• diagnostic logs: usually kept for a limited period needed to investigate issues; 
• purchase records: kept as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention and legal obligations. 

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.

You can request deletion of your account, child profiles and saved stories within the app or by contacting:

Some information may be retained where necessary for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information, including secure transmission, access controls and limiting access to people and service providers who need it.

No system is completely secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

OriStory and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
